Venetian Mask

This vintage Venetian mask had seen better days and needed a smile put back on his face.

The mask had a nice signature and date to the inside.

First I stabilised the crack with a rabbit skin glue mix. I then filled the cracks using traditionasl gesso.

The gesso was gently sanded with fine emery paper until smooth.

Cracks filled, I then retouched the repairs until they were invisible.

Okay, he's still grumpy but atleast he's not cracdking up!
